Love Safely, Sensually and Spiritually

I Love Me

I Love Me

Instead of “I love my boyfriend” or “I love my dog,” I had an “I love me” t-shirt.  When I first saw it in the store, I thought it seemed a bit narcissistic, and then I smiled and asked myself “is it true?”  The answer was yes, absolutely.  Why not let the world know.  I loved novelty t-shirts.  Just to give you an example of how much I used to like novelty t-shirts, I had one that said “Dinner, drinks and a movie $200, my shirt off Priceless.”    Yes, it was a bit immature, but what is life without a few laughs and giggles.  I decided that the “I Love Me” t-shirt had nothing to do with vanity or selfishness.  The message was true.  I liked the way it fit and it looked really cute with my mini skirt and my wedge sandals.     Now that I have matured […]

An Intimate Cry

An Intimate Cry

Are you the type of person who would prefer to be happy all of the time?  Smile at strangers?  Love to make people feel welcomed, accepted and loved?  Well, join the team. I want everyone I meet to feel special, and I believe, for the most part, they do.  Yeah Team Happy! Sometimes, even though I fight it as if I am drowning, I experience sadness.  The more I fight it, the more emotional I get.  It’s as if I’m splashing in water trying to get to the side in order to grab the wall or the railing for the stairs and I can’t seem to make it.  The more I splash and panic the more my head goes under the water.  Emotions are fluid, like water and we all know fighting water it is exhausting. I have learned that it is important to embrace those emotional moments or you […]

Kiss For Good Health

Kiss For Good Health

“Before he could finish his sentence, I rose to my tippy toes, grabbed his face and kissed him feverishly, lips pressed hard; I fondled his sweet tongue with mine.” Kissing can be so sensual, satisfying and spiritual.  Kissing is also good for your health.  Who knew?  I did some research and found that kissing lowers stress.  There is this stress hormone called cortisol, kissing decreases the release of that hormone.  Kissing also eases anxiety,  a lot like the effects of mediating.  I can see that.  Have you ever had that extraordinary kiss that left you stuck in a euphoric state, not being able to open your eyes nor talk; you see vibrant colors and shapes.  You know similar to taking mushrooms, not that I’ve ever taken mushrooms. But I’d like to think taking mushrooms is similar to a kiss that leaves you temporarily paralyzed experiencing pleasure and beauty at the […]

Intimacy 101

Intimacy 101

Closeness, familiarity, warmth, affection… Those are a just few synonyms for the word “intimacy.” As I journey through my personal transformation to enlightenment I noticed that there are a lot of us walking through life not really understanding what that word truly means. Intimacy can be defined a couple of different ways. According to dictionary.com intimacy means “a close, familiar, and usually affectionate or loving personal relationship with another person or group.” No matter the definitions or the synonyms for intimacy we can agree that it is personal. We have our own personal meaning of intimacy. It may include all of the words, emotions I listed above, closeness, affection, familiarity, but those words are so broad that it could involve a myriad of actions and reactions. Intimacy to me involves a physical act that causes me to react…a gentle slow stroke on my cheek with the back of your fingers […]
